Our range of Fluoropolymer materials include semi-finished rod, tube and sheet in PTFE, PEEK, PFA, FEP, PCTFE and many others. Fluoropolymers are commonly used in applications that require chemical resistance, sealing at temperature etc. 

We offer a range of compression moulded PTFE tube in Virgin PTFE and have developed our own “AF” range of filled PTFE compounds, with in-house moulding capability up to 1000mm diameter.

All materials manufactured or supplied by AFT Fluorotec are fully certified and tested.

Tailored to your requirements

AFT Fluorotec can offer moulded rods and tubes of PTFE and PTFE compounds such as carbon, glass, bronze, and polymer filled materials, from 5 mm diameter to 1000 mm diameter.

Our new PTFE moulding shop is purpose built, and houses the moulding presses, and PTFE sintering ovens.

Our tooling is designed and procedures are controlled to ensure all materials processed have optimum physical properties for the particular grade or compound.

AFT Fluorotec can offer grades of PTFE that are tailored to meet you application, be it to enhance load bearing ability, wear resistance, reduced friction, or resistance to permeation.


Advantages of using PTFE materials

PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene is an optimal material for sealing at extremes of temperature and offers many advantages, including:

PTFE offers an exceptionally low coefficient of friction, but it is also related to the sliding velocity, a high speed resulting in a higher coefficient of friction. It is widely accepted at the coefficient of friction is 0.1, but this has been measured as low as 0.016.
