PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is an extremely hard-wearing material used for a wide variety of applications and is well-known for its non-stick properties.
The main benefit of PTFE coatings (such as Teflon) is the non-stick properties of the material, which means applications such as commercial bakeware have excellent non-stick / release properties and are very easy to clean.
PTFE can creep and deform under heavy loads, a disadvantage that can be avoided by adding a filler in order to benefit from the properties of both materials. Fillers can also add properties such as improved thermal conductivity, for applications that demand good heat dissipation.
